Energy Detector measures repetitive pulses at 25 kHz rate.

Press Release Summary:

With Pulsar-4 Multi-Channel USB Smart Head to PC Interface, Model PE9-F Pyroelectric Detector measures repetitive pulses at up to 25,000 pulses/sec, and has dynamic measuring range from 300 nJ to 1 mJ. Calibrated spectrally for wavelengths from 190 nm to 12 µm, it works with Ophir smart displays including Orion PE, Nova, Nova II, Vega, and LaserStar. Meter provides wide range of information about laser being tested, and pulse energies can be displayed numerically or in graphs.

Ophir-Spiricon Inc. Introduces Laser Energy Detector That Measures Repetitive Pulses at Industry's Highest Rate - 25 KHz

Compact, low noise PE9-F pyroelectric energy detector measures every pulse of energy, from 300 nJ to 1 mJ

May 19, 2008 - Logan, UT - Ophir-Spiricon, the global leader in precision laser measurement equipment, today announced the PE9-F Pyroelectric Detector. The PE9-F is a pyroelectric detector that accurately and repeatably measures laser pulse energy over an extensive range of conditions. The detector measures repetitive pulses at up to 25,000 pulses per second, the fastest in the industry, when used with the company's
Pulsar-4 Multi-Channel USB Smart Head to PC Interface. And unlike many detectors on the market, the PE9-F measures each and every pulse, not just a sample.

The PE9-F Pyroelectric Detector has a wide dynamic range, capable of measuring from 300 nJ to 1 mJ. Calibrated spectrally for wavelengths from 190 nm to 12 µm, the PE9-F works with all Ophir smart displays, including the Orion PE, Nova, Nova II, Vega, and LaserStar. Each display features a "Smart Connector" interface that automatically configures and calibrates the display when plugged into one of the company's measurement heads.

The PE9-F Pyroelectric Detector can do almost everything a standard thermal head can do, such as power measurement with repetitive pulses, single shot energy, and laser power tuning. The meter provides a wide range of information about the laser being tested, including pulse energy, average power, frequency, minimum and maximum values, missing pulses, time jitter, and standard deviation. Pulse energies can be displayed either numerically or in graphs. Up to 50,000 points of data can be stored on-board in nonvolatile memory and can be sent to a personal computer for storage and further analysis.

"The PE9-F Pyroelectric Detector is based on patented repetitive pulse technology that allows highly accurate measurement of every pulse at an unprecedented repetition rate," stated Ephraim Greenfield, VP Engineering, Laser Measurement Group, Ophir-Spiricon, Inc. "This innovation allows the PE9-F to measure energies at unprecedented pulse rates."

Pricing and Availability

The PE9-F Pyroelectric Detector is available now. Prices start at $1800. OEM pricing is available on request.
