End Prep Cutter Blades Cut Dry to Improve Weld Surfaces



A full line of cutter blades for their welding end prep tools that are designed to produce a thick chip without cutting fluids and minimize the need for clean-up are available from ESCO Tool of Medfield, Massachusetts.

Esco MILLHOG® Cutter Blades feature a radical chip breaker to direct the chip away from the tube surface and reduce the heat generated for longer blade life. Made from T-15 tool steel and titanium nitride (TiN) coated for added lubricity, they can cut stainless steels, P-91, and other hard materials without fluids to minimize the need for clean-up before welding.

Capable of beveling, facing, and boring simultaneously, Esco MILLHOG® Cutter Blades are available in any angle of end prep including J-prep, 37 ½°, and compound bevels. They mount rigidly into the cutter head with a wedge-lock blade locking system that holds tighter under pressure. Welding end prep tools for tube and pipe from ½" I.D. to 24" O.D. are offered.
