Sumitomo's New WBMF Ballnose Endmill Produces Exceptional Finishes



Mount Prospect, IL (August 20, 2002) - The new WBMF Wave Ballnose end mill produces improved surface finishes.

The WBMF, the latest in the Wave Mill Series from Sumitomo Electric Carbide Inc., creates excellent surface finish and high wear resistance. Its indexable, high positive rake face also produces smooth cutting action. The WBMF has the higher positive rake face of conventional, indexable types mills. This Wave Ballnose end mill uses the newest combination of carbide substrate and ZX coating technology. The WBMF's coating and substrate produce long and stable tool life. In a comparison, the WBMF showed significant advantages in tool life for both 45° and 75° shoulder milling, over competitors tooling.

The R-Accuracy is ± 0.015mm (0.00059in) with an R-Runout within 0.020mm (0.00078in). The WBMF is available in 10,12,16,20,25 and 30 mm diameters.
