Original Press Release:

Heavy Duty Shaft Increases Radial Load Rating by 250% for AMCI Encoders & Resolvers

Terryville, CT November 30, 2006 - AMCI (Advanced Micro Controls Inc.) has released a heavy-duty front shaft option for the DC25 DuraCoder (http://www.amci.com/rotary-encoders.asp) and H25 resolver transducer (http://www.amci.com/resolvers/h25-resolver.asp) product lines. This addition to AMCI's extensive family of rotary sensor products utilizes an ultra-durable stainless steel front shaft with a diameter of 5/8" (0.675").

This rugged shaft option now carries a 100 lb radial load and a 50 lb axial load rating, delivering a 250% increase over the current radial load rating of 40lbs. AMCI engineered the 5/8" front shaft option for applications that demand a higher radial load rating; for example, when pulleys, chains and gears are mounted for use under tension. The increased radial load ratings enable accurate position readings without slippage of either chains or belts.

Stamping press and packaging machine applications many times require a sensor to be mounted with a belt or chain under side/radial load. This shaft option, which is standard on the HT-20 resolver transducer (http://www.amci.com/resolvers/ht20-resolver.asp), now provides a customer a wider variety of position sensors - analog, DeviceNet, SSI, etc.

All of AMCI's DC25 DuraCoder and H25 resolver transducers (http://www.amci.com/tutorials/tutorials-what-is-resolver.asp) now have this 5/8" heavy-duty front shaft as an option.
