New Enclosure Air Conditioner is Designed to Mount Outside or Inside of Cabinet
April 11, 2005 - Kooltronic, Inc., of Pennington, NJ, announced the introduction of the Profile Series 43 Panel Mounted Air Conditioner designed to cool the interior of electronic cabinets. The first in the new Profile line of NEMA 12 and 3R air conditioners is 43 inches(h) x 17 inches(w) x 9 inches(d) with a capacity of 6,000 BTU/H, and is ideal for both indoor and outdoor applications.
Engineered to be mounted either outside or inside of an enclosure, the Profile Series Air Conditioners are the first Kooltronic models to offer this degree of flexibility. The series will eventually consist of six air conditioners ranging in heights from 17 to 52 inches and capacities from 1,500 to 12,000 BTU/H.
"Traditionally, enclosure manufacturers and integrators have mounted air conditioners on the outside because space on the inside of an enclosure is usually at a premium," remarked Kooltronic's Director of Sales and Marketing, Rich Wenstrom. "However, we've recently worked with several integrators that wanted an internally mounted air conditioner, and that is what spurred the development of the Profile Series."
When mounted on the inside of a cabinet, the unit is tamper resistant. Combined with a NEMA 3R Rating, the Profile Series is an excellent choice for telecommunications or other outdoor cabinet applications. "Having the ability to locate an enclosure outdoors without the worry of vandalism is a major plus for some of our customers," added Wenstrom. "They asked for it and we responded. At Kooltronic we listen to our customers and deliver solutions."
With a depth of only 9 inches, the Profile Series 43 is also the thinnest indoor/outdoor air conditioner Kooltronic has ever developed. "The dimensions of the series make the option of mounting it internally a reality," noted Wenstrom. "A 20% savings in depth allows the unit to fit into spaces previously too small for an air conditioner."
Providing thermal protection to sensitive electronics in ambient temperatures up to 131ºF, the Profile 43 is available in 115 VAC and 230 VAC (50 or 60 Hz) and is UL/CUL Recognized. It's designed for easy installation utilizing the innovative M-Seal Mounting System which seals the unit to the enclosure with just three screws when it is mounted externally or a simple flange system when mounted internally. Other standard features include EMI/RFI suppressor, low temperature control thermostat and a condenser impeller speed controller for efficient and quiet operation.
In addition to a long list of standard features, the Profile Series 43 is also available with a wide range of accessories and options including a short-cycle protector, cooling effect detector, electric heater and lead-lag controller.
