Lincoln Electric Launches New Rugged Ranger® 225 Enclosed-Case Welder

Cleveland - Lincoln Electric has added the new Ranger® 225 to its engine driven welder product portfolio. This rugged welder/generator delivers smooth DC welding output and 10,500 watts peak AC generator power. The Ranger 225 is ideal for construction contractors, maintenance crews, farmers and ranchers.

The Ranger 225 features the added protection of a fully enclosed case, providing additional engine protection for onsite welding applications in rugged environments. It also helps to lower noise levels when compared to a partially enclosed or unenclosed welder of comparable size and output. Engine service is achieved with three sizable engine access doors.

This engine-driven welder handles a variety of basic welding jobs with 225 amp/25 volt welding output for stick, TIG, MIG and flux-cored arc welding, as well as arc gouging. Its smooth DC welding output is designed for a broad range of stick electrodes, including Lincoln's Excalibur® 7018 (AWS E7018) and Fleetweld® 5P+ (AWS E6010). Users can choose DC+ for a deep penetrating arc or DC- for less penetration on thin sheet metal.

As an AC generator, the Ranger 225 offers 10,500 watts - the most peak power in its product class (use peak power for motor starting). At a rated 9,000 watts of continuous generator power, the unit is ready to serve as a back-up power generator, or power many tools, lights, grinders or even plasma cutters (compressed air supply required) or inverter welders.

The Ranger 225 includes a 23-HP Kohler® gasoline engine with a two-cylinder, four-cycle overhead valve air-cooled design, an oil drain extension for easy oil changes and a 12-gallon fuel tank for extended run times.

The unit's capabilities can be expanded to include self-shielded flux-cored CV wire welding when a Lincoln Electric LN-25 PRO or LN-15 Across-the-Arc wire feeder is added. Users can also AC TIG weld with the addition of a Lincoln Precision TIG® 225 welder or an Invertec(TM) V205-T AC/DC inverter for aluminum and other alloy welding.
