Industry First: Ultra Small, Monolithic Polymer, Encapsulated Film Capacitor with Capacitance to 1.0µF



Eatontown, New Jersey...a new series of film capacitors that represent an industry first, offering capacitance up to 1.0µF in an ultra small package measuring 0.195mm(w) x 0.195mm(l) x 0.095mm(h) and encapsulated for excellent environmental protection (moisture resistance to MIL-PRF-55514)-has been added to the Minifilm® line and is now available from the manufacturer, Electronic Concepts.

The MINIFILM® MONOLITHIC POLYMER FILM CAPACITOR is especially well suited for low voltage output filter applications. It offers the designer maximum miniaturization, superior reliability and longer service life. The construction also ensures, not only negligible capacitance shift under extended exposure to humidity, life and temperature cycling, but also overall electrical integrity and extended long term stability-reasons why this capacitor is a more functional choice versus uncased capacitors.

Performance characteristics include capacitance tolerance of 5%, 10% and 20%; withstands solder reflow to 230°C; capacitance from 0.15 to 1.0µF; capacitance change of +2.5% max. at +85°C; dielectric strength of 150% of rated voltage; voltage rating of 20VDC; continuous operating temperature of -40°C to +85°C; dissipation factor of 1.0% max @ 25°C and 1kHz--and ESR as low as 0.12 ohms max at 100kHz and 25°C.

Capacitor can be specified either as a surface mount configuration or with radial leads. Each unit is tested for capacitance tolerance, dissipation factor, dielectric withstanding voltage and insulation resistance, before shipment.
