Original Press Release:
O-Z/Gedney Flexel Hand-Bendable Fittings Eliminate Need for Bending Machines
SKOKIE, IL, January 3, 2001 - O-Z/Gedney Flexel EMT Flexible Fittings provides electrical contractors with an innovative, time-saving way to couple lengths of EMT together, or to connect EMT to a panel board or junction box where a change of direction is required in the conduit run, without the need to lug a heavy bending machine into the field. It is available in 1-1/4-inch to 4-inch trade sizes.
Flexel fittings are completely hand-bendable, so contractors always gets the exact angle they need, whether it's straight tubing, a full 90° bend, or any position in between, including compound and offset configurations. And while Flexel is rigid enough to maintain its shape when installed, it isolates equipment vibration to allow for limited expansion and contraction. Flexel also maintains its full internal diameter, regardless of the bend, so it complies with the NEC's minimum radius requirements.
Made of rugged strip steel with zinc-plated steel end fittings, O-Z/Gedney's Flexel fittings are suitable for indoors and dry locations wherever EMT is used as a raceway. Flexel will safely conduct the maximum ground fault current required by UL, CSA and the NEC.
