New EMI/RFI Shielding Gaskets with UL94V0 Flame Retardancy Certification
Vanguard Products Corporation, 87 Newtown Road, Danbury, CT USA is pleased to announce that, in cooperation with our partner in Japan, Vanguard-Japan LTD., two new materials have been added to our UL94V0 flame retardancy listing for our dual elastomer Ultra-Vanshield® EMI/RFI shielding gasket product line.
These new products are produced under UL file number E311158, and feature a dark pigmented silver in silicone jacket (-16 jacket designation) over a low compression force sponge core; or a low cost silver/glass in silicone jacket (-26 jacket designation) over a low compression force sponge core. The dark pigmentation of the -16 designated products makes them particularly attractive for visible applications, while the -26 designated products are ideal for cost competitive applications.
Both options achieve greater than 90 dB of shielding effectiveness in standard MIL-DTL-83528 testing. The -16 designated materials have a volume resistivity of 0.003 W-cm, while the -26 designated materials have a volume resistivity of 0.010 W-cm. As a result, they are perfect for applications such as shielding around high speed connectors, on circuit boards, or anywhere low compression/deflection forces with high ultimate shielding effectiveness are required with minimal contact area and UL94V0 flame retardancy certification. Both materials are very soft and exhibit very low compression set along with high temperature resistance as well.
Both products are available in long continuous lengths, or bonded into rings, with or without pressure sensitive adhesive for installation.
