Original Press Release:

The NEW Pilz Pit - A Modern Designed Emergency Stop Pushbutton

The NEW emergency stop button guarantees maximum safety to protect both man and machine. The PIT emergency stop pushbutton is suitable for applications up to category 4 in accordance with EN 954-1. It also meets the new requirements of IEC/EN 60947-5-5 and EN 418, making it particularly safe.

A special safety contact block prevents contact elements being released without detection. With its yellow border, the contact block is easily recognizable as a safety element. Together with the contact elements it forms a fixed unit, so it cannot be wrongly configured, nor can individual contact elements be attached incorrectly. The high-quality contact elements are
gold-coated, enabling them to control even very low currents (1 mA) within the safety circuit.

The emergency stop pushbutton is designed to IP65. It is available as a turn to release device, or a key-release version is also available. Thanks to its compact enclosure, the PIT can be used on plant or machinery as well as directly on an operator panel. Other versions with illumination and protective collar are currently in development. With the emergency stop button, Pilz continues to expand its safety technology range.
