Bradley Offers First Through-Wall Combination Emergency Shower/Eye Wash Unit

MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis., (Sept. 26, 2003) - Bradley Corp. has introduced a through-wall, combination emergency fixture suited for applications in extremely hot or cold climates that do not have an underground water supply. This is the first through-wall shower and eyewash unit to have the ball valves located inside the building.

The Bradley S19-310 TW features a drench shower and an eyewash unit on the exterior of a wall, while the ball valves are on the inside to prevent the flushing fluid from being exposed to outside temperatures. If a unit is activated and turned off, a weep valve will drain any remaining fluid out of the pipes. This eliminates the chance of ice or scalding hot water building up in the piping.

"We saw an opportunity to develop an affordable shower/eyewash unit for outdoor areas without a buried water line," said Tom Jones, emergency fixtures product manager for Bradley. "The new Bradley through-wall fixture fills a need in the industry, and will help facilities to cost-effectively prepare for outdoor hazards."

The Bradley through-wall unit is shipped partially assembled to help shorten installation time. It is designed to fit a standard eight to 12-inch wall thickness, but can also be ordered in special sizes. A 10-inch, impact resistant plastic showerhead has a spray pattern that meets ANSI requirements, and the eyewash offers safe, steady water flow under varying water supply conditions from 30 to 90 PSI.
