Arista Corporation Provides 5.25-Inch Disk Size Embedded Board for Industrial Applications

FREMONT, Calif., - Nov. 11, 2002 - Arista Corporation, a leading industrial PC solutions provider and system integrator, today announced the EBC-8300, a 5.25-inch embedded board incorporating Intel's 845G Chipset. The EBC-8300 supports the Intel Pentium 4 processor with speeds of 1.3GHz to 3.06GHz with 256-KB or 512-KB L2 cache.

The I/O functions on the 5.25" board are integrated onto the built-in ICH4. The embedded board supports the integrated graphics device (IGD) with 3D, 2D and video capabilities. The system memory size of the EBC-8300 can be upgraded to 2 GB, using the two DDR sockets on board. Four USB ports are available on the device utilizing the USB 1.1 and 2.0 standard.

The EBC-8300 supports TV out and LVDS with the use of the Chrontel CH7017 display controller that accepts two digital graphics and data streams. One data stream outputs through an LVDS transmitter to an LCD panel, while the other data stream is encoded for NTSC or PAL TV and outputs through a 10-bit high speed DAC. The TV encoder device encodes a graphics signal up to 1024x768 resolution and outputs the video signals according to NTSC or PAL standards. The LVDS transmitter operates at pixel speeds up to 165MHz per link, supporting 1600x1200 panels at 60Hz refresh rate.

EBC-8300 comes with Ethernet functionality, the primary LAN integrated on ICH4's LAN controller and the optional secondary LAN using Intel 82540EM(10/100/100Mb) or 82551QM(10/100Mb). The board also supports AC97 audio, four COM ports, UDMA 100, watchdog timer and a PCI slot for expandability.

"The EBC-8300 embedded board represents the perfect choice for those who want superior performance for point-of-sale, kiosk, ATM or additional embedded applications," said Stewart Austin, director of sales for Arista Corporation.
