III-based EBC-7850, an embedded board with Intel® 815E system chipset, built-in VGA with shared memory architecture, 10/100Mbps Ethernet, AC97 audio and optional TV Out function. Optimal Processor Performance
Designed to deliver performance, reliability and quality at a reasonable price, the EBC-7850 is a 3.5-inch disk-size board that supports a Socket 370-based, high-performance Pentium® III processor or the economical Celeron(TM) 400 processor. Its advanced Intel® 815E chipset provides up to 133/100 MHz front side bus speeds and 133MHz for system memory.
A 144-pin SO-DIMM socket allows for up to 256MB of SDRAM support. An Award PnP Flash BIOS conveniently handles plug-and-play devices.
A superb multimedia board, the EBC-7850 has an on-chip VGA controller with up to 1600x1200 resolution at 256 colors. The 4MB display memory is shared with system memory. An optional TV Out interface uses the Arista EBC-7851 daughter board that provides RS-485 functionality with automatic data direction control, four digital inputs and four digital outputs. TV output is software-selectable for NTSC or PAL signals, composite or S-Video with resolution to 1024x768.
Built-in Ethernet, Audio Controller
The Arista EBC-7850 uses the Intel 82801BA embedded LAN controller, a fully integrated 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX LAN solution with high performance networking functions and Alert-on-LAN features for the most demanding network environments.
The system chipset supports AC97 3D surround stereo sound with speaker out, CD-input, line-in and microphone for complete multimedia capability.
Super I/0
The board has two serial ports (one 232/422/485-selectable) and one parallel port that supports SPP/EPP/ECC modes. The IDE interface is a 44-pin header that supports Ultra DMA66/100 modes. One FDD port is provided.
Special industrial features not found on conventional motherboards include a watchdog timer (software-programmable from 1s to 255s in 1s increments) and SSD support consisting of a
CF+ Type II socket for an IBM Microdrive compact HDD.
