Elliott Steam Turbine Generator to Boost Clean Energy Production at Washington Landfill

Subject: Elliott -Klickitat Turbine Generator

Jeannette, PA , March 3, 2009 - Elliott Company has won the contract to provide a steam turbine generator for the Klickitat Public Utility District (KPUD). The steam turbine generator will be installed in the H.W. Hill Landfill Gas Power Plant near Roosevelt, Washington to recover and convert exhaust heat from the plant's methane-fired gas turbine generators. The Elliott steam turbine generator will boost the plant's electric generation capacity by 34%, from 20.4 to nearly 27 megawatts of power.

According to Mike Lordi, Vice-President of Elliott's Industrial Product Business, "KPUD's landfill gas project utilizes methane to produce enough clean, renewable energy to power over 17,000 homes. Elliott's steam turbine generator will improve the efficiency of KPUD's operation by capturing and redirecting the exhaust heat to maximize electric production. In addition to the significant environmental benefits, the process also benefits the landfill, the local community and KPUD customers."

Elliott will provide a model 2DYR7 single valve, multistage steam turbine with gear, generator, control and lube system, critical components of the combined cycle process which converts waste heat to steam to power.

"The ability to meet KPUD's rigorous technical requirements was the key to Elliott receiving the contract award," commented Lordi. "We are very pleased to be a part of this clean energy project."

Delivery of the Elliott steam turbine generator is scheduled for February, 2010, with installation and full operation anticipated in the second quarter.
