Elemental Analyzer operates under Windows(R) NT or XP.

Press Release Summary:

Eagle III micro-Probe(TM) consists of table-top, micro-XRF elemental analyzer that uses capillary optics to concentrate X-ray beam size down to 100 micrometer diameter on sample. High-intensity X-ray optics, CCD video imaging cameras, and motorized XYZ stage allow non-desructive, simultaneous Na through U analysis of solid objects, liquids, and powders. Eagle III software displays all information on single monitor and provides single-page reports.

Original Press Release:

EDAX, Inc. Launches The Eagle III Series Of Micro-XRF Elemental Analyzers

Mahwah, New Jersey - EDAX Inc, a leader in energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence (XRF) and X-ray microanalysis equipment since 1962, has introduced the Eagle III micro-Probe(TM) series of
micro-XRF elemental analyzers.

The Eagle III micro-Probe is a table-top, micro-XRF elemental analyzer that uses sophisticated capillary optics to concentrate the X-ray beam size down to a 100 micro-meter diameter on the sample. The "look down", high-intensity X-ray optics, CCD video imaging cameras and motorized XYZ stage allow non-destructive, simultaneous Na through U analysis of the widest variety of solid objects, liquids and powders. The Eagle III offers an optic protection sensor and optional 30 mm2 Si(Li) detector for improved spectral resolution. The Eagle III operates under Windows® NT or XP, keeping users up-to-date on the latest computer OS.

The Eagle III XPL micro-Probe equips the Eagle III with an innovative X-ray Poly-capillary Lens to generate an ultra-high intensity X-ray beam down to ~ 40 micro-meter diameter on the sample. The Eagle III XPL can be equipped with variable spot size (40 micro-meters to 150 micro-meters) and/or automated
primary filter control.

The Eagle III software displays all information on a single monitor and offers the ultimate ease-of-use, while maintaining all the advanced capabilities users have come to expect. Both the
expert and the novice can obtain reliable and accurate analyses alike. Compact, single-page reports can be generated at the touch of a button.

Alternatively, users can take advantage of the Windows environment to simply merge data, spectra and images into their preferred desktop publishing and word processing programs.

EDAX is a unit of AMETEK Process & Analytical Instruments. AMETEK, Inc. is a leading global manufacturer of electronic instruments and electric motors with annual sales of more than
