New Pyro-Dcut 598 Hi-Temp, Electrically Conductive Adhesive Now Available

Valley Cottage, NY - July 2, 2003

SUMMARY

Pyro-Duct(TM) 598, a new high temperature, nickel-filled adhesive developed by Aremco Products, Inc., is now used to produce electrically and thermally conductive joints in electrical and electronic components used in applications to 1000 °F (538 °C).

FEATURES

Pyro-Duct(TM) 598 is a single part, nickel-filled, silicate-bonded, electrically conductive adhesive for use in applications to 1000 °F (538 °C). Highly filled with nickel flake particles, Pyro-Duct(TM) 598 provides a volume resistivity of .005 ohm-cm and thermal conductivity of 17.9 Btu-in/hr-ft²-°F. This adhesive can be used to bond a variety of substrates including ceramics, glasses and metals.

Pyro-Duct(TM) 598 is a water-dispersed system that contains no volatile organic compounds. It is easy-to-apply and cleans up with warm water and soap in the uncured state. Curing is accomplished easily by heating at 200 °F for 2-4 hours. Further curing and strengthening is achieved in-situ as the operating temperature rises to 500 °F and above.

Applications for Pyro-Duct(TM) 598 include the metallizing of ceramic parts and coating other non-conductive surfaces to produce electrically conductive paths.

Pyro-Duct(TM) 598 is available in two standard viscosities, 598-A for adhesive applications and 598-C for coating applications. It is offered from stock in pint, quart, gallon and five-gallon pails.
