CIC Launches New Sign-It with Support for Adobe LiveCycle

CIC Strengthens Its Value Proposition to Adobe End-users While Enhancing CIC Channel Relationships

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., April 19 / -- Communication Intelligence Corporation ("CIC") (BULLETIN BOARD: CICI) , a leading supplier of electronic signature solutions for business process automation in the Financial Industry and the recognized leader in biometric signature verification announced today the release of its latest Sign-it(R) for Adobe(R) Acrobat(R) software, an enterprise class solution that extends the capabilities of Adobe LiveCycle(TM) software with multi-modal electronic signatures.

Adobe LiveCycle helps organizations automate and streamline people-centric business processes. The new release of CIC's Sign-it product further extends the value of LiveCycle by enabling highly configurable and legally binding electronic signatures. Sign-it extends the digital signature architecture within the Adobe PDF format to enable the use of multi-modal signature technologies including; click-wrap, stamping, seals, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and biometric handwritten, voice, and fingerprint signatures -- all through a common electronic signature solution. Sign-it also provides a patented process that delivers a best practice eSignature solution for use across multiple business processes throughout the enterprise.

It is estimated that fifty billion original paper documents are generated each year in the US alone, that the expense associated with paper documents is over 15% of annual corporate revenue and that 60% of those paper documents are signature dependent (Coopers & Lybrand, Gartner Group). Leveraging electronic signature solutions to achieve a truly paperless environment affords organizations major benefits including significant expense reduction, compressed business cycles and enhanced security.

"Many of our customers, which include some of the largest financial services companies in the world, are currently using Adobe solutions within their corporate infrastructures," commented Russ Davis, Chief Product Officer for CIC. "The new release of Sign-it is specifically designed to address our enterprise customers' need for greater flexibility in applying business rules to the electronic signature process within LiveCycle. It also enables the enterprise to address technology, line-of-business and platform specific needs regardless of whether the solution is being deployed in brick and mortar locations, over the web or through field sales and service operations."

CIC's new Sign-it embeds preconfigured signature fields, at design and authoring time, leveraging Adobe LiveCycle Designer or Adobe Acrobat Professional or dynamically, using various third party

PDF tools on the market today. These signatures are designed to meet the requirements of Adobe Document Server which, among other things, allows for execution of the electronic signature within Adobe LiveCycle Reader Extensions. Sign-it provides great flexibility for the form author to configure the signing process. It also enables customers to collect data through alternate applications and to customize the signing interface that is presented to their users. This insures increased customer acceptance and adoption through user friendly, process specific interfaces. Additionally, Sign-it supports an array of back office tools from CIC that enable enterprise specific processing, reporting and validation of documents which is critical for large organizations.

"Adobe's support of CIC in the development and release of this new eSignature capability represents our commitment to further advancing LiveCycle for use in paperless transactions within the large enterprise," said John Landwehr, Director of Security Solutions and Strategy at Adobe. "In concert with our LiveCycle products, CIC's Sign-it allows the flexibility to address a broad range of electronic signature needs for the modern enterprise and enables organizations to complete the final step in automating their document processes." Mr. Landwehr further commented, "The rich set of integration and implementation tools CIC provides in combination with Sign-it also provide tremendous value to our Adobe System Integrators and ISV partners."

"This new capability for LiveCycle allows CIC to more effectively establish, enhance and leverage selling efforts with Adobe Channel partners and reflects our extensive channel development effort over the past twelve months," stated Scott Zieglar, CIC's Vice President of Channel Sales. "CIC channel partners have a significant investment in their solutions and development staff, so it is key for them to have all electronic signature needs delivered from a common product."

"As the leading Adobe Solution Partner in North America, Four Point Solutions ("4Point") has been involved in many successful customer deployments of LiveCycle," commented Denis Parisien, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at 4Point. "Working in conjunction with Adobe and CIC, 4Point led the largest implementation of LiveCycle with Sign-it at one of the nation's top five banks." Mr. Parisien added, "Key to our success has been to recognize the diverse needs of our customers and work with leading vendors such as CIC to provide the building blocks to an Adobe-based solution required to both meet those needs and deliver a short term return on investment."

CIC's Sign-it products are currently available in English and have been designed to meet the specific laws and regulations of the US and European Union. The company is currently undergoing certification with the state Security Bureau for approval of its Chinese versions of the products to allow for sales within mainland China through its joint venture company, CIC China and its regional distributor, eCOM Asia Pty., Ltd., a local reseller and integrator of Adobe products as well.
