Comitronic Introduces a New Safety Switch with Locking Device to Monitor Dangerous Zones

The French company Comitronic, specialized distributor of safety equipment, is launching a new stand-alone safety switch with internal control. The easy-to-use AMX5 CK is equipped with a coded-key locking device that can override the switch operation. Designed to replace interlocking systems, the system has a wide range of applications, from the monitoring of machinery doors to the electrical control of entire dangerous zones.

The switch uses a unique, completely electronic process-the magnet-based Acotom3 decoding system, which, unlike competing reed switch-based systems, is completely tamper-proof. While the AMX5 CK's primary function is to monitor the opening of doors of dangerous machines, it also includes an electrical coded-key locking mechanism intended to monitor dangerous zones. The coded key located on the receiver can inhibit the switch's functioning if necessary. This enables the AMX5 CK to prevent a machine from restarting if an access door accidentally closes while the operator is inside. Classified as Category 3 under the European EN954-1 Safety of Machinery Standard, the AMX5 CK switch includes a transmitter and a receiver equipped with a M12 connector. It is available with a protective polycarbonate housing.

What's more: the AMX5 CK has two NO (for Normally Open) safety lines and an auxiliary NC (for Normally Closed) line. It can also be used with the company's BLOC C4CK key-protected module.

Comitronic is currently looking for distributors.
