A high performance electronic DC injection brake that monitors the rotation of any spinning AC induction motor and can automatically and safely stop it is available from Waddington Electronics, Inc. of Cranston, Rhode Island.
Waddington's DYNA-STOP II is an electronic DC injection brake that senses the rotation of an AC induction motor up to 30 hp and automatically applies current until the motor stops completely, regardless of load. Featuring a zero speed circuit to make certain the braking current is removed from the motor when it is stopped, this brake provides adjustable stopping torque.
Suitable for drills, lathes, presses, grinding wheels, saws, fans, milling machines and similar tools, Waddington's DYNA-STOP II eliminates spin-down to improve operator safety, permit faster tool changes, and reduce production cycle times. Easy to retrofit, there are no mechanical modifications or connecting shafts required and only seven wires needed for installation.
