Original Press Release:

Checkweigher KWE 4040 for Large and Heavy Packaging

Bosch Pharma, a Bosch Packaging Technology company, extends its electronic checkweigher range KWE 4000. The new KWE 4040 machine weighs large packages in a gross weighing range up to 30 kilogrammes. The company meets the growing demand in the area of check weighing for weight and completion checks with high production capacity. The KWE 4000 range is built for nearly all pharmaceutical and food products. The compliance with the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guide lines ensures the quality of production processes. In terms of electronic signatures and records, Bosch Packaging optionally equips the KWE range according to the US regulation 1 CFR, Part 11.

Like all types of the KWE range, the KWE 4040 stands for 100 percent control. The weighers guarantee optimal precision, even at high outputs thanks to its force restoration weighing technology with a standard deviation of +/- 50 milligram. Users in the pharmaceutical and food arena optimize the quality of output when deploying checkweigher machines.

The smart file card system provides paperless production documentation. A software links and administrates up to 31 KWE machines at the same time. Digital interfaces assure an easy configuration of digital coding equipment, such as laser and inkjet printers or optical character recognition (OCR) and optical character verification (OCV) systems. All modules allow an easy integration with Ethernet networks and computer data logging systems. The complete KWE range offers standard touch screens with user friendly surface as standard.

An extensive modular system, such as side press belts, acceleration belts, sorter deflectors and collapsible belts allow flexible upgrades for feeding and rejections of products. An optional metal detector captures contaminated products and eliminates them from the production flow. The user friendly design as well as the automatic calibrating and learning function reduce changeover time. Weighing frame and control cabinet with the control unit are made of stable stainless steel. Transport units are also available in this material, by request. The Bosch Pharma checkweigher can be integrated with minimal expense into existing product lines and has overall ongoing low maintenance costs.
