Electronic Ballasts work with metal halide lamps.

Press Release Summary:

Prismatron(R) may be used with 320, 350, and 400 W conventional and pulse start metal halide lamps. Ballasts provide continuous dimming control to as low as 25% of lumen output. Units may be used with low-voltage control circuitry, including occupancy sensors, or programmable controls. Ballasts are FCC compliant for compatibility with other EMI and RFI sensitive electronic devices, and provide silent operation, color stability, and flicker-free illumination.

New Holophane Prisma Prismatron(R) Electronic Ballasts Deliver Improved Lamp Performance

NEWARK, Ohio (April 3, 2002) - Holophane introduces Prismatron(R) electronic ballasts for use with 320-, 350- and 400-watt metal halide lamps. The ballasts, which are available with luminaires equipped with Holophane's full line of glass high-bay optics, may be used with both conventional and pulse start lamps.

Prismatron electronic ballasts consume fewer watts during normal operation than magnetic core and coil ballasts. They also facilitate greater lamp lumen maintenance over the life of the lamp, improving mean lumen output by 15 percent for a standard metal halide lamp, and 13 percent for a pulse start lamp.

Prismatron electronic ballasts provide continuous dimming control to as low as 25 percent of the lumen output. The units may be used with industry standard low-voltage control circuitry, including occupancy sensors, or programmable control. Prismatron ballasts are FCC compliant, assuring compatibility with other EMI and RFI sensitive electronic devices. The new ballasts also provide silent operation, color stability and flicker-free illumination.

Suggested applications include commercial and light industrial environments, including assembly areas, warehouses, distribution centers and retail stores. The ballasts are particularly appropriate for noise sensitive areas such as libraries and concert halls.
