Electrodes are suited for high-strength steel welding.

Press Release Summary:

Arcos 312 bare wire (ER312) and covered (E312) stainless steel electrodes are designed for welding stainless steels to mild steels as well as high-strength steels. Both are suited for welding dissimilar joints, especially if one base metal is stainless and high in nickel content. Weld deposit is 2-phase, and even with dilution from austenitic forming elements, such as nickel, microstructure is 2-phase and resistant to weld metal cracks/fissures.

Electrodes for High Strength Steel Welding Introduced by Arcos

Mount Carmel, PA ---Arcos Industries, LLC offers new bare wire and covered stainless steel electrodes, Arcos 312, which are designed for welding stainless steels to mild steels and for welding high strength steels that are difficult to weld with ferritic electrodes.

Both the bare wire (ER312) and covered (E312) Arcos 312 products are valuable for welding dissimilar joints, especially if one of the base metals is a stainless high in nickel content. The weld deposit is two-phase, high in ferrite. Even with considerable dilution with austenitic forming elements, such as nickel, the microstructure is two-phase and thus highly resistant to weld metal cracks and fissures.

Arcos 312 electrodes are utilized for welding applications which include general fabrication, pipelines, pharmaceutical plants, oil and gas facilities and in marine environments. The bare wire version is available in diameters from .035"- 3/16", the covered from 3/32"- 3/16".
