Electro Magnets provide high holding forces.

Press Release Summary:

Electro magnets, with coil-potting design, adapt to side or rear lead-wire connections. To overcome residual magnetism, devices can be fitted with optional ejector pins. Standard magnets include threads for retaining pins. Available in stock sizes from 25 to 80 mm OD, holding forces range from 150 to 2100 N, and coil windings are rated from 3 to 12.5 W. Electro magnets can also be supplied in miniature or oversized versions.

New Electro-Magnets Have Added Attraction

New range of standard electro-magnets launched by Densitron

Santa Fe Springs, September 3, 2002: Densitron is leveraging its extensive experience in designing and manufacturing customized electro-magnets and solenoids to produce a new line of standard electro-magnets, based on the most frequently requested features and sizes from past custom designs. Densitron's extensive experience with electro-magnetic flux modeling and device optimization using finite element analysis, has enabled Densitron to launch a new range of standard electro-magnets with very high holding forces - as high as 2100N at 20°C, with power consumption as low as 12½ W.

Moreover, Densitron has developed a novel coil-potting design that makes the electro-magnets adaptable to either side or rear lead-wire connections, depending on the required mounting arrangement. In addition, if residual magnetism needs to be overcome, the devices can also be fitted with an optional ejector pin. As standard, they include a thread for fitting retaining pins if required for a particular application.

With stock sizes of 25mm to 80mm (outside diameter), holding forces in the 150N to 2100N range, and 3W to 12.5W coil-windings, the electro-magnets can be supplied in either miniature or oversized versions to suit most applications. Optional matching armature plates are also available for all stock sizes.

Applications include fire door hold/release mechanisms, and processes requiring the movement, holding and releasing of heavy ferrous metal loads.

OEM prices for the 25mm size start at $23 each for 1,000 pieces. Delivery is from stock to 12 weeks after receipt of order depending on size and availability.
