Germantown, Wisconsin — Electro Kinetic Technologies today announced the delivery of custom motorized carts for a large aerospace government agency. Designed to meet their exact specifications, this motorized platform cart will eliminate excessive push/pull forces during the transport of their 2,000 pound payload.
Research studies conducted at the Liberty Mutual Research Institute for Safety have concluded that pull/push forces in excess of as little as 35 pounds contribute to musculoskeletal workplace injuries in employees. Because the cart without a drive system exceeded these limits, the client turned to Electro Kinetic Technologies for assistance.
The custom design included a front wheel drive system with high traction wheels so that the cart could be easily maneuvered off road. The client needed to mount several pieces of equipment on the cart so it was designed with a ½" thick plate steel top that had pre-drilled and threaded holes laid out to their specifications. The batteries, charger and variable speed control are all housed in a lockable drawer located under the platform. Speed and acceleration profiles were also customized to match the client requirements.
