Leviton Introduces Hospital Grade Receptacles for Specialty Health Care Environments

Receptacles are ideal for high magnetic-field environments

Little Neck, NY, December 3, 2008 - Leviton is pleased to introduce its new Hospital Grade Receptacles designed for use in high magnetic-field environments. The new Hospital Grade duplex receptacles are made of the same superior quality construction as Leviton's standard Hospital Grade Receptacles but constructed without ferrous materials to allow their use in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) rooms of hospitals, health care facilities, medical buildings, imaging centers and other environments where high-magnetic fields are present.

Available in 15 Amp and 20 Amp, 125 Volt versions, the new HG Receptacles feature impact-resistant thermoplastic nylon covers and bodies and a smooth face that resists dirt and dust. Large triple-wipe brass "T" contacts provide superior contact and conductivity. Locked-in-wrap-around brass straps and the self-grounding brass clip on the device offer a superior ground path. The receptacle's brass center bushing adds maximum strength and durability.

According to Marc Noest, Director of Product Development for Leviton's Commercial and Industrial business, "The addition of the MRI Receptacle to our extensive offering of Hospital Grade devices reinforces our commitment to develop superior quality products designed expressly for the health care industry. Their sturdy construction ensures their durability and structural integrity for a long service life in critical care environments."

The new HG Receptacles are UL Listed 498 HG, UL Fed Spec WC-596, CSAC 22.2 No. 42 and are backed by Leviton's Limited 10 Year Warranty. For more information, contact Leviton Manufacturing, 59-25 Little Neck Parkway, Little Neck, NY 11362, Phone: 1-800-323-8920, www.leviton.com.
