With its new line of DMES linear actuators, Festo now offers designers a high-value, high-performance electromechanical linear actuator that compliments its extensive pneumatic product line, enabling OEM's to satisfy most, and in some cases all, of their automation component needs from a single reliable source.
High Value - The DMES, our most cost-effective electromechanical linear actuator, is optimized to be used in combination with our MTR-DCI, a high-value motor that includes an integrated positioning controller, providing designers with one of the most cost-effective precision linear motion solutions available....... worldwide. For even greater cost savings, the DMES is also available without an integrated guide mechanism, ideal for those applications that either have light-applied loads or already include linear guides.
High load capacity and safety - DMES offers compact dimensions, high load capacity and high mechanical torques, providing a feed force of up to 3000 N. As a result of the fine screw pitch, the lead screw of the DMES is inherently non-backdriveable, thereby eliminating the need for an additional braking mechanism in vertical applications.
High reliability and extremely protected - . The lead screw is integrated within the body of the actuator providing enhanced protection, minimizing the risk of premature failure related to contamination from debris. An external metal sealing strip provides additional protection from dirt and dust. For the harshest environments, the DMES is also available with a dust-proof cover.
Versatile design - The recirculating linear ball bearing guide in the KF version allows for extremely high forces and moment loads, yet has low friction, resulting in very smooth, highly efficient linear motion. The friction guide in the GF version offers extremely quite and smooth linear motion, ideal for format setting applications. The GF is also a lower cost, lighter weight guide that is resistant to contamination. Incorporating standardized interfaces allows the new range of actuators to easily integrate into new or existing modular axis systems.
