ELC Programmable Logic Controller
FactoryMation announces the release of the Eaton Cutler-Hammer ELC programmable logic controller (PLC) as part of their Complete Control product line. FactoryMation has teamed up with Eaton Cutler-Hammer to offer a unique set of PLC and operator interface products allowing customers to design control systems with maximum flexibility, and occupying the smallest space at an industry best price. The ELC programmable logic controller includes built-in I/O on its CPUs to operate as a standalone controller and has the ability to add expansion modules to its no-rack design by snapping them into mating connectors. ELC controllers are available in 10, 12, and 14 I/O configurations from $93 with two serial ports, pulse input/output motion control, autotune PID, and pluggable terminal blocks in a compact 1" wide package. Additional features include real-time clock/calendar, external setpoint potentiometers, configurable 7-segment displays, advanced motion control up to 100Khz pulse in/out, and even built-in analog I/O for standalone process control. Extensive communication capabilities from the two built-in serial ports allow ELC controllers to network to RS-232/RS-485 Modbus compatible devices, operator interfaces, remote I/O, dial-up or cellular/wireless modems, VFDs, or any ASCII In/Out device. All ELC controllers are expandable up to 256-I/O using ELC digital or analog expansion modules starting at $36 for 8-DC inputs. Analog and specialty modules include a built-in RS-485 Modbus slave port enabling them to be remote I/O for an ELC controller, or as a low cost temperature/analog to Modbus signal conditioner.
