Elastomers withstand basic and amine environments.
Press Release Summary:
Models BRE 713 IX, BRE 7132X, BRE 723 IX and BRE 7410X base-resistant elastomers are formulated to withstand conditions found in basic and amine-containing environments, most notably those involving lubricating fluids in the automotive industry such as molding gaskets, seals and O-rings. They resist amine packages found in ATF fluids, gear lubricants, engine oils and other fluids while offering high temperature resistance and good processability.
Original Press Release:
Dyneon Offers Dyneon(TM) Base Resistant Elastomers
Provides Exceptional Properties in Demanding Applications
BURGKIRCHEN (October 25, 2001) - Dyneon has announced the commercial availability for a new product line, Dyneon Base Resistant Elastomers (BREs), in response to high customer demand for these materials in specialized applications.
These uniquely designed BREs are manufactured by Dyneon using proprietary technology and are formulated to withstand the demanding conditions found in basic and amine-containing environments, most notably those involving new lubricating fluids in the automotive industry. Dyneon BREs are ideal for use in molding gaskets, seals, o-rings and other automotive components.
Dyneon BREs provide exceptional resistance to amine packages found in ATF fluids, gear lubricants, engine oils and other lubricating fluids while simultaneously offering excellent high temperature resistance and outstanding processability similar to that of standard fluoroelastomers. Dyneon BREs also provide exemplary metal adhesion, mold release and versatility.
The product introduction follows a successful sampling phase with several well-known component manufacturers to evaluate the BREs' ability to resist amine-based additives typically found in newer automotive lubricating fluids. In addition, the component manufacturers that received the sample product were overwhelmingly pleased with the processability of the BREs.
As with all Dyneon products, DyneonT BREs offer exceptional value to the customer along with a remarkable price-to-performance ratio. Most importantly, the products are backed by Dyneon's quality standards and superior technical support. The new products, Dyneon BRE 713 IX, BRE 7132X, BRE 723 IX and BRE 7410X, are available for purchase through Dyneon sales representatives.
Dyneon is one of the world's largest fluoropolymer producers with operations or representation in more than 50 countries. Headquartered in Oakdale, Minn., the company employs more than 900 people worldwide.
