Ektron Enhances Web Site Interactivity and Communications with Memberships, Web Alerts, Advanced Search in CMS400.NET Version 5.1

AMHERST, N.H., Nov. 8 / -- Ektron, a leader in Web content management software, announced the availability of Ektron CMS400.NET Version 5.1. The release provides advanced Web content management functionality that enables Web sites, Intranets and Extranets to provide more interactive communications to visitors, build site loyalty, and generate more repeat visits.

The Site Membership and Subscription features in CMS400.NET Version 5.1 allow site visitors to self-register, manage personal profiles, and subscribe to automated Web Alerts that notify them by email when relevant content or documents are added or updated to public facing or private sites.

Additional Version 5.1 enhancements improve CMS and site performance, enable more powerful searches, and provide next-generation, AJAX-enabled navigation and search interface, among other additions.

"Internet, Intranet and Extranet sites are evolving rapidly and organizations are seeking to use the Web as a platform to deliver interactive applications and personalized information to their customers, prospects, employees and other visitors," said Bill Rogers, Ektron CEO and Founder. "Ektron CMS400.NET continues to evolve as an all-in-one solution to help organizations go beyond managing Web content and create next-generation Web sites, deploy so-called Web 2.0 applications, and provide more personal and interactive online experiences."

Ektron CMS400.NET Version 5.1 strengthens Web marketing and communications strategies by making it easy for site managers to provide automated, highly personalized interaction with their users and deliver richer, more engaging online experiences that encourage repeat visits and loyalty.

For example, Web sites can issue Web Alerts when new products or special offers are published; government agencies can communicate consumer warnings and legislative updates; schools can announce school cancellations or calendar listings; news and publishing sites can notify subscribers about relevant new articles and documents.

Corporate intranets can notify individuals or groups when a corporate policy is published or updated; when new marketing or sales materials are created; when human resources documents are revised, and more. Web Alerts complement Ektron's native support of RSS feeds, providing an email-based, "always-on" alternative to notify readers when new information is available and pull them back to the site.

Additional Version 5.1 enhancements that improve CMS and site performance, enable more powerful searches, and provide next-generation navigation and search include:

o Enhanced Search and Findability -- Ektron's CMS search engine has been optimized for performance and presentation. Complete indexing of Web content, Microsoft Office documents, and other assets, plus metadata tools including full support for the Dublin Core Metadata Standard and customized tagging, enable more advanced searches and more accurate, relevant search results.

o Advanced HTML Form Builder -- Ektron makes it easy to create a two-way dialog with site visitors by enabling them to submit information, data, and questions via Web forms. Version 5.1's wizard-like form tool lets marketers and other users build forms and form-based applications and route form data to the right individual or group for processing.

o Ektron Explorer -- Our enhanced interface -- a plug in for Windows Explorer and Internet Explorer -- provides intuitive, AJAX-enabled folder-tree navigation and a next-generation search interface so users can find, access, and manage Web content, documents and other assets. Ektron Explorer can also be used by Intranet and Internet site users to navigate and access assets more easily.

o Site Replication -- Complete integration of CMS400.NET with Ektron's Site Replication tool makes it easier for IT managers and Web site owners to make changes to templates, forms, content and other assets, run quality assurance and approval processes, and automatically "push" all changes to the production server at the same instant.

o Security and Authentication -- New LDAP support adds a new option for managing CMS users, complementing Ektron's support for Active Directory.
