eFax® Adds Searchable Fax, Other New Features

The company also doubles fax storage to two years and introduces the ability to tag faxes. The features, added at no additional charge for paid eFax customers, are available now.

LOS ANGELES, -- eFax announced today that its entire user base now has the ability to search faxes using keywords and that fax storage limits have been doubled from one to two years. Additionally, users can now use tags to categorize faxes in the online Message Center(TM). The features have been added at no additional charge and are already integrated into the eFax paid service feature set. eFax is a brand of j2 Global Communications, Inc. (NasdaqGS: JCOM) and an Internet fax to email service with over 11 million customers worldwide. eFax is online at www.efax.com.

eFax is the only online fax service currently offering searchable fax. This powerful feature highlights the fact that faxes, often documents comprised of hand written information such as personal signatures or notes, can now be indexed and searched just like other digital files.

Faxes stored in the eFax Message Center inbox can be searched using specific keywords, eliminating time consuming manual searches through archived documents. eFax customers simply need to log into the online eFax Message Center and enter a keyword search in the "Search Faxes" box. Any faxes containing the desired keyword will be pulled up and can be opened directly from the inbox.

Tagging allows faxes to be stored and identified by subjects or category. This means groups of faxes tagged by a particular category or subject (i.e. client name or paid/non-paid status) can be quickly recalled and opened in the Message Center Inbox. Tagging and searchable fax work hand in hand; a broad category search can be done using tags, then specific keyword searches can be done within the sorted tagged group.

Doubling online fax storage limits from one to two years further enhances the new search and tag capabilities. The ability to search and tag up to two years of archived faxes can lead to greater efficiency and productivity by streamlining document retrieval processes.

"We continue to look for ways to bring additional value to the eFax service for our paid customers," said Mike Pugh, vice president, marketing for j2 Global. "Searchable fax, the ability to tag faxes, and extension of online storage from one to two years are examples of that business goal. Adding these new services to paid eFax accounts at no additional charge demonstrates our goal to increase the value of the eFax service, while giving customers new ways to streamline their workflow, helping save time and money, while increasing efficiency."
