Press Release Summary:

Attached to RAM of any EDM sinker machine, EDtapper can add tapped/threaded hole into hardened steel without requiring lead screw. It converts 2-axis vertical movement to orbital movement, forming entire depth of thread in one orbital cycle. Featuring up to 1/8 in. horizontal movement in 0.001 in. increments, 2 positions for electrode attachment are available: orbital fixed angular movement for threads, and orbital and rotating about its axis for circular symmetrical shapes.

New EDtapper for Sinker EDM Now Available from HIRSCHMANN
HIRSCHMANN Engineering USA, Inc., Schaumburg, Illinois now has available for immediate delivery the economical EDtapper, an EDM tapping and orbiting unit designed for use on any sinker EDM machine. The EDtapper is available exclusively from HIRSCHMANN ENGINEERING USA.
When the EDtapper is added to the RAM of the EDM sinker machine it can add a tapped/threaded hole into hardened steel. No lead screw is necessary. The EDtapper converts the 2-axis vertical movement to an orbital movement, forming the whole depth of the thread in a single orbital cycle. The EDtapper has up to 3.2mm (1/8") horizontal movement in 0.02 (0.001") increments.
The set-up time for the EDtapper is only 5-minutes. The familiar control panel of the machine controls it. Two positions for electrode attachment are available:
