"Get Closer" with Ultra Precise Wire - EDM from Agie at IMTS 2002
Davidson, NC - Agie will introduce the new Vertex at IMTS 2002 in booth #D4000 of the EDM Pavilion. The Vertex wire-cut EDM system is Agie's latest answer to the increasing demand for ultra-high precision machining for smaller, more intricate electronic, medical and aerospace components and tooling.
This new system features Agie's latest innovation, Agieduo(TM), which incorporates a dual wire spooling system so that two different wire sizes can be changed without operator involvement. Designed for automation, the new Agieduo system allows you to rough with a large diameter wire and finish with a small diameter efficiently. Monitored by newly developed and patented sensors, the Vertex guarantees automatic threading of wires from 0.00078" (0.02 mm) to 0.008" (0.2 mm) diameter through holes only 0.002" (0.05 mm) diameter larger than the wire itself. In other words, it is now possible to thread through a hole as small as 0.003" (0.08mm). Surface finishes as fine as 2 microinch Aa (0.05 micrometer Ra) are routinely achievable.
The Vertex also features a unique thermally stabilized mechanical design with an ultra precise 0.000004" (0.1 micrometer) Dual Feedback System (DFS) that measures, regulates and checks all 5 axes.
The new IPG generator increases efficiency and new Agievision 3 control simplifies operation. Exclusive Agie features such as Early/Late, Pieceinsert, and AutoTRIM improve flexibility and reduce programming time by as much as 50%.
