Compact, Highly Productive Agietron Advance Die Sinker Demonstrates "Entry Level" Automation
Chicago, IL - With a high-capacity stationary table that can be crane loaded with large workpieces that weigh up to 2,000 lbs (910 kg), the Agietron Advance 4 being exhibited by Agie Ltd. at IMTS (Booth #D-4101) is an exceptionally brawny EDM die sinker. In addition, the 15-station integrated tool changer may be the most rugged in the industry, with an individual electrode weight capacity of 48 lbs (22 kg), providing long runs of automated production.
The Advance was the first truly "Plug & Play" EDM die sinker. Upon delivery, all that is required is that the unit be leveled and connected to electrical and air supplies. Start up and production is easily achieved within an hour. The Agietron Advance is also highly accurate. Starting with its impressive weight of more than 10,000 lbs, highly rigid gantry construction, a high-resolution servo (1/8 micron; 0.000005"), and precision ground ball screws, the new system provides surface finishes down to 0.2 µm Ra.
Another important price/performance benefit of this productive workhorse is its compact size. With a footprint of only 81 x 71 x 105" (2050 x 1800 x 2670 mm), the Advance 4 occupies a fraction of the space required by most competitive machines - many of which have as little as one-third of the Agietron's work tank volume.
