Intelligent PAU interfaces with any PC/PLC based dynamometer controller

Dyne Systems introduces the DS820, an intelligent, third generation, universal Power Amplifier Unit (PAU) with an improved digital design that offers greater flexibility for upgrading both existing test cells and new test installations. The DS820 interfaces with all existing Dyne Systems dynamometer controllers or industrial PCs/PLC based controllers running third party software. The DS820's versatility allows it to be used by gas or diesel engine rebuilders, AC or DC motor rebuilders, OEMs, independent testing houses and universities.

The DS820 provides a unique set of features. The front panel diagnostic LCD display eliminates guesswork by displaying real time field current, input command, status and fault messages. Error messages can also be reported via PLC level I/O to external controls. An analog 0 to 10v DC input enables the unit to be used as a standalone, open loop eddy current power amplifier or incorporated into existing test cells with fully integrated closed loop control units.

The modular construction allows the DS820 to be interfaced with different dynamometer control components. With significantly increased current capabilities, this unit is available in standard rack mounted versions up to 30 amps as well as traditional wall mounted units rated 15, 30, 50, and 100 amps up to 480v AC. Higher non-standard amp ratings can easily be custom engineered. Set up is simple and straight-forward.
