Eaton STC Connectors are 25-Million Strong

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. ... Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation is celebrating a milestone for its Snap-To-Connect (STC)® fluid conveyance connectors. Since the product's introduction in 1992, more than 25 million STC connectors were sold worldwide for applications in which leak-free performance is required.

The robust threadless connector is a patented alternative to conventional threaded fittings because the STC connection assembly does not require the use of wrenches or other special assembly tools. The connecting ends are simply pushed together resulting in leak-free connections - in a snap.

Eaton's innovative STC connector was one of the first high-pressure threadless connectors to be launched in the fluid power industry. Compared to its competition, the STC connector:

o Is the benchmark threadless connection for mobile equipment original equipment manufacturers (OEMs)

o Is used by numerous OEMs in order to increase productivity, decrease assembly time, provide access to hard-to-reach areas and decrease overall assembly costs

o Offers the most design flexibility with its reusable design and direct-porting capability

o Provides the safest assurance that male and female halves are aligned properly with its visual latch verification

The STC connector facilitates fast and easy installation of flexible hose and tube assemblies.

Installations with conventional threaded fittings can take several minutes or even hours and are subject to leaks because of torquing inconsistencies and other variables, the STC connector enables even difficult-to-reach, confined-area connections to be completed in substantially less time. The connector rotates during assembly, thereby eliminating twists that dramatically reduce hose life.

Additional benefits of the Eaton® STC connector include:

- Lighter weight, lower profile than threaded connectors

- Direct-port-capable design eliminates the need for adapters

- Reusable joint with replaceable O-rings

- STC male that can be formed onto tubes for lower pressure applications

- Global design with global availability and support

Suitable applications for the Eaton STC connector include hydraulic fluid, low-pressure air, lubricating oil, fuel and gasoline, coolant and air conditioning lines on trucks, agricultural machinery, construction equipment and much more. STC connectors are available in connection sizes ranging from - 06 to -16.
