EATEL Deploys TV Caller ID from Integra5 to Enhance the Value of Its FiberEdge Triple Play Bundle and Deliver an Integrated Customer Experience

Cross-platform application makes caller ID a 'TV star' over the only fiber-to-the-home network delivering Internet, TV and phone services in south Louisiana

BURLINGTON, Mass., Nov. 7 / - Integra5, the pioneer in enabling service providers to blend quad play bundles into converged services for simultaneous delivery across TVs and PCs, today announced that EATEL, an incumbent local exchange carrier (ILEC) serving communities in south Louisiana, has deployed its i5 Converged Service Delivery Platform (C-SDP) and rolled out TV Caller ID from the company's i-Communicate application suite. Offering TV Caller ID and other converged, cross-platform applications is part of EATEL's on-going strategy to enhance the value of its FiberEdge triple play bundle.

Serving residential and business customers since 1935, EATEL launched FiberEdge, its advanced fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network last year to deliver the fastest Internet access, digital TV and digital telephone services to subscribers. The new TV Caller ID displays the name and number of an incoming call on subscribers' TV sets -- before the phone even rings!

"The new service is free and automatically activated for any EATEL customer who subscribes to our FiberEdge TV Digital Edge package and any EATEL phone service with Caller ID," said Brad Supple, director of marketing and sales, EATEL. "This is another example of EATEL's FiberEdge products working together to provide innovative and lifestyle-enhancing features to our customers over a network with virtually no bandwidth limitations."

The i5 C-SDP enables service providers to quickly deliver converged communications and content to any IP device, including TVs and PCs, using i5 or third-party applications. Its standards-based, distributed architecture has the processing performance required for real-time delivery and management of signals and information between data, telephone (public switched and IP), cable TV (traditional and IPTV) and cellular networks.

"As one of the leading telecommunications companies in the Gulf South, EATEL provides another showcase account where i5 applications are blending the bundle into new services that drive ARPU and increase customer satisfaction," said Meredith Flynn-Ripley, chief executive officer, Integra5. "Only the i5 C-SDP and its pre-packaged i5 applications are field proven to deliver cross-platform services in less than a week over any network -- copper, HFC or FTTH -- and to any device, including both legacy and advanced set-top boxes."

The i5 C-SDP and i-Communicate applications have been commercially deployed with multiple service providers since mid-2004, including Comporium, Everest, Foothills Telephone Cooperative, Hargray Communications, and Knology, among others.

In addition to deploying TV Caller ID, EATEL is testing Integra5's PC Caller ID application for possible future deployment. PC Caller ID delivers the same notifications of an incoming caller's name and number to a subscriber's PC screen before the phone rings.
