Easy, Intuitive Commissioning and Operation for Sinamics V20 Converters

• Wireless access to converter increases flexibility

• Intuitive commissioning and operation via web browser allows free choice of engineering device from smartphone to pc

• Uses in industries such as textile, packaging, food beverage or logistics as well as commercial applications

The Sinamics V20 range of converters is being extended by an additional option for wireless commissioning and operation. The web-server module “Sinamics V20 Smart Access” is a small device for mobile access which can be mounted on the converter building an access point. This allows the user to access the compact converter via a secure WIFI connection with a laptop or mobile device for functions such as commissioning, parameter setting or monitoring. Thus the converter can be conveniently accessed with familiar tools, even if it is installed in areas which are difficult to access. The module’s intuitive user interface further allows fast and easy commissioning with the commissioning wizard. Sinamics V20 converters are the company’s smallest so far on the market, suitable for industries such as textile, packaging, food beverage, logistics or heating, ventilation and air conditioning.

"Sinamics V20 Smart Access" With the web-server module "Sinamics V20 Smart Access", the user can access the compact converter via a secure WIFI connection with a laptop or mobile device for functions such as commissioning, parameter setting or monitoring. "Sinamics V20 Smart Access" enables users in different industries to access their Sinamics V20 converters via a laptop or mobile device. With the web-server technology there is no need to install any additional data or applications, and the existing web browser of the end device may be used. The user is thus fully flexible in choosing the device for wireless operation. With the Sinamics V20 Smart Access the following functions may be directly performed: commissioning, setting or changing parameters, monitoring the converter's status, running motors in JOG mode, troubleshooting, and backing up or restoring settings. Settings from one converter can also be multiplied and sent out for use to other mobile devices. By changing the web-server module from one converter to another, several Sinamics V20 converters can be commissioned and operated using the mobile device as the operator panel. This convenient access and the intuitive user interface allow fast, easy commissioning and the pre-setting of parameters. Furthermore, the tool allows the user to adjust parameters at short-notice at any time.

The outstanding features of Sinamics V20 are its simple operation and rugged design. The converters are suitable for industrial applications such as pumps, fans, compressors, mills, braiding machines or conveyor systems. They can also be used for commercial applications: industrial washing machines, refrigerated counters, fitness equipment, heating, ventilation and air conditioning.
