EADS Uses AWARD Software in its Winning Bid for Major GBP200m UK Government FiReControl Network Contract

OXFORD, England, September 26/ / - Commerce Decisions has announced that EADS, the European military and
aerospace contractor, used AWARD software in the successful bid process for a major GBP200m UK Government FiReControl Network contract. EADS is a global leader in aerospace, defence and related services.

FiReControl is a project to supply and maintain England's Fire and Rescue Services with a common national response infrastructure by creating a network of nine regional contact centres over an 8-year time period to replace the existing 46 control centres.

EADS used AWARD to compile and coordinate their bid response, which included the collation and sourcing of a significant volume of documentation, plus the completion of a large number of multi-function based questions - improving the quality and timeliness of their response. AWARD also facilitated the extensive bid review process in an efficient and effective manner by allowing the review team easy access to a large volume of data through clearly presented formats.

"We could see the value that AWARD brought to us and how it significantly improved the quality of the EADS bid, particularly in terms of being able to present complex information effectively whilst adhering to a uniform process.
It helped us with the quality of our response, which was recognised by the customer, Communities and Local Government (CLG). We would certainly use AWARD again but much earlier in the bidding process and we are looking to see how we can fully integrate AWARD into the EADS bid management process,"
commented Steve Whitby, EADS FiReControl Project Director.

AWARD is a collaborative web-based software solution designed specifically to support the strategic procurement process from Request for Information preparation, through proposal evaluation to negotiation, delivery and post contract review. AWARD is proven to reduce time to contract, improve value for money and reduce risk. It has been used to support strategic procurements in a range of commercial and public sectors including utilities, transport, local government, healthcare, aerospace and defense. These procurements cover a broad range of activities including the provision of schools, hospitals, and transport and defense systems across Europe and the US.

"We are very pleased to see more and more bidders like EADS utilising AWARD to enhance the quality of their bids and improve their chances of securing contracts," said John Thompson, CEO, Commerce Decisions.
