Fujitsu fi-6130 & fi-6230 Duplex Color Workgroup Scanners Offer Enhanced Features and Functionality for Easy Scanning, Fast Speeds and Advanced Feeding and Paper Handling
SUNNYVALE, Calif., March 3 -- Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., a market leader in document imaging scanners and services, today introduced the next generation of its workgroup document imaging solutions, the Fujitsu fi-6130 and fi-6230. The new color, duplex scanners provide unmatched performance and market-leading document imaging capabilities with enhanced scanning speeds, advanced paper handling and improved feeding technology.
The new Fujitsu fi-6130 and fi-6230 (flatbed model) scanners integrate the latest innovative scanning features and applications, including an advanced document feeding system for superior paper handling that features automatic ultrasonic multi-feed detection technology, long document scanning support (up to 10 feet), enhanced embossed card scanning capability (such as id cards and insurance cards) and feeding of up to three hard cards in either landscape or portrait orientation through its 50-page automatic document feeder (ADF). The new workgroup Fujitsu scanners also deliver scanning speeds of up to 40 pages per minute (ppm) / 80 images per minute (ipm) at 200dpi monochrome and grayscale, and 30 ppm / 60 ipm at 300dpi full color, providing uncompromised speed and performance with the advantage of higher image quality for increased OCR accuracy.

The advanced paper feeding technology incorporated into the Fujitsu fi-6130/fi-6230 scanners reduces document preparation time, while providing improved paper handling. The innovative feeding system employs a new reversing brake-roller technology that helps maintain the tapered edge on paper batches to more reliably separate sheets during the scanning process. A larger pick-roller design works in concert with the advanced separation technology to permit a broader range of paper weights to pass through the feeder mechanism (11 to 56.2 lbs). Additionally, ultrasonic double feed detection and a newly designed scanner panel provides exceptional control for the operator.
In addition to offering best-in-class functionality and value, Fujitsu also provides industry-leading software bundles for its scanners. The Fujitsu fi-6130 and fi-6230 scanners are bundled with Adobe(R) Acrobat(R) 8 Standard, ScandAll Pro V1.5 for improved document imaging processing and productivity, and Kofax VirtualReScan(R) (VRS) 4.1 Professional automated document image-enhancement software. The VRS 4.1 Professional software provides users with more robust image enhancement capabilities that further reduce the need for manual intervention in the scanning process and offers them a powerful suite of intelligent color image processing features, including automatic orientation, blank page removal, background saturation and color detection. Additionally, VRS provides AIPE, the defacto standard in Kofax connectivity that serves to bridge VRS functionality with other compliant applications. Furthermore, VRS 4.1 Professional comes with Enhanced Bar Code (EBC) recognition consisting of standard barcodes as well as an extended library of 1 and 2D barcodes providing a wide degree of barcode compatibility for batch separation.
