Service Providers can Now Extend Their Networks to Reach More Customers Using the Unique Dual Radio AP Which can Work in IEEE 802.11a/b/g Standards
SINGAPORE, June 19 -- smartBridges, a leading provider of standards-based outdoor fixed wireless networking equipment, is launching the dual radio access point, the airPoint2 Nexus PRO, part of the award winning Nexus series, at CommunicAsia 2006. The unique dual radio architecture enables the design of highly concentrated wireless networks to cover large areas and provide intelligent broadband services for enterprise class users.
The airPoint2 Nexus PRO is specially adapted for applications in areas such as WISP, city-wide muni-broadband, commercial Hotspots, and Telcos. In Cell Extender Mode, one radio can work in point-to-point with a backhaul and another in point-to-multipoint, thereby allowing service providers and system integrators to extend the reach of their VSAT, fiber-optics or other leased line backbones. While in Dual Access Point mode, it allows coverage of different sectors in all of the IEEE 802.11a/b/g standards. With up to 40 Mbps of throughput and a range extending up to 10 miles (16 km), service providers can now offer value-added services such as VoIP, VPN, video conference, security surveillance and broadband Internet to more customers using a single device.
