Bosch Measuring Tools Debuts World's First 360° Dual-Plane Line Laser

Innovative GLL2-80 combines the best features of both rotary and line lasers to offer users unparalleled versatility and value!

Mount Prospect, Ill. - For most professional users, choosing a laser layout tool has been a bit of a balancing act between rotary lasers (too much tool) and cross-line lasers (limited utility in some applications). With the introduction of its innovative new GLL2-80, Bosch Measuring Tools offers those users access to the ideal middle ground - in the form of the world's first 360° dual-plane line laser.

Bosch's GLL2-80 is capable of projecting constant lines on both vertical and horizontal planes, ideal for alignment and leveling applications when installing cabinets, floor and wall tiling, drop ceilings, interior framing, decorative finish and trim work and more. For specific applications, the GLL2-80 quickly switches between dual-plane, vertical-only and horizontal-only modes, providing best-in-class flexibility for the user.

The heart of the GLL2-80's innovation is Bosch's proprietary Cone Mirror Technology, which reflects a laser beam to project bright laser "chalk lines" in 360 degrees, rather than using a motor to rotate the beam. By reducing the number of moving parts, Bosch is able to produce a laser layout tool that is more compact, lighter, easier to calibrate and simpler to use overall. Minimizing moving parts also means the GLL2-80 is significantly more rugged in typical jobsite use.

Regardless of application, set-up is fast and simple for the self-leveling GLL2-80. Bosch's Smart Pendulum Leveling System quickly levels the unit for use and alerts the user if an out-of-level situation occurs. A secure transport lock protects the pendulum when the unit is switched off. Once leveled, the GLL2-80 is accurate to within 1/4" over its 100-foot range (in normal mode). To work in bright light or to cover longer distances (up to 265 feet), the GLL2-80 can be switched to Pulse Laser Receiver Mode and can be used in conjunction with the optional LR2 Laser Receiver for even greater flexibility.

The GLL2-80 can be mounted in multiple ways, another plus for users who tackle various types of projects. The base of the unit is designed to enable either freestanding operation or magnetic attachment to metal tracking. Or the unit can be mounted to a standard tripod; the base accommodates both ¼-20" and 5/8-11" tripod mounting. By incorporating the included WM1 Positioning Device with a micro-fine height adjustment, users can dial in their preferences even further.

As with all Bosch products for pro users, durability is key. In addition to the secure transport lock to protect the pendulum, Bosch has built the GLL2-80 to rigorous IP54 standards for water and dust protection. The easy-to-grip rubber housing further protects the GLL2-80 from jobsite abuse and ensures precise and reliable service over the lifespan of the tool.

The GLL2-80 comes complete with a hard carrying case to protect the tool, the WM1 Positioning Device, an instruction manual and four AA batteries.
