SPMS Launches Dual Entry PDU for Use with Generator & Mains Power

State College, PA - June 1, 2009 - Spectrum Power Management Systems, a division of Spectrum Control, Inc., presents the high-power 72RA260BVFFN-00 power distribution unit. This dual input PDU is designed for applications where facility power and generator power co-exist to provide redundant power to IBM blade arrays. The custom design was created using technology utilized in a previous dual input model.

This design features one L6-30P input as well as one L14-30P input. Both inputs provide 200-240 Volts of AC power. Output power is 120 VAC for the two NEMA 5-20R outlets, and 240 VAC for the four IEC C19 outlets. The current is rated at 24 amps max. per power group, and total load capacity is 14.40 KVA, which is ideal for blade server applications.

UL listed circuit breakers are utilized in the 72RA260BVFFN-00 to prevent catastrophic system faults. For maximum protection, each individual outlet has its own circuit breaker. Suitable applications for this design include, but are not limited to, data center racks, blade server applications, defense ATE equipment, industrial ATE equipment, scientific instrumentation cabinets, and network operating centers.
