Dual Varactor Diodes Provide Close Matching and Board Area Reduction
Hauppauge, New York... For applications requiring close tuner diode matching, Zetex has expanded its range of dual common cathode hyperabrupt varactor diodes. Two additional devices, the ZMDC831BTA and ZMDC832BTA, offer high tolerance C-V characteristics, inherent matching, high Q, low leakage and low phase noise performance.
Nominal capacitances (C2) for the '831B and '832B are 15pF and 22pF respectively at a reverse bias voltage of 2V. The C2/C20 capacitance ratio is 4.5 to 6 and 5 to 6.5 respectively, and reverse leakage current is typically as low as 200pA.
By providing two devices in a single miniature package, board area can be reduced significantly. For example, one ZMIDC83x part, employing the SOT323 package, occupies only 1/3 the board area required for two SOT23 packaged parts.
Typical applications for the ZMDC dual varactors include voltage controlled and crystal oscillators (VCO and VXCO), frequency synthesizers and tuned phase lock loop tank circuits.
The 1,000 piece price is $0.30 each. Delivery is quoted at 4-6 weeks in production volumes.
