Mil-Spec Low-Profile Dual Data Bus Transformer In SM Package Moves Data At High Speed

Ideal For High-Reliability Industrial and Military Applications

ROMOLAND, CA-February 6, 2004-Designed to move data at rapid speed in rugged environments, the low-profile 4256-1003 Series Dual Databus Interface Transformers from Datatronics Romoland, Inc., feature a space-saver surface mount package that is only 3.94 (0.155 in) mm tall for high-density electronic equipment.

The Model 4256-1003 Transformers feature a minimum input impedance of 4,000 or 7200 Ohms over the full temperature range of up to -55 to +130°C. They support data transmission requirements in a wide range of mission critical industrial and military applications.

Designed to support Mil-Std 981, Class S applications, as well as Mil-Std-1553 A/B and MAC AIR Specifications A3818, A5232 and A45690, these dual data bus transformers offer high electrical performance while operating within challenging environments. In addition to the gull wing surface mount package, the Model 4256-1003 is available in both a through-hole and a flat pack configuration.

Supporting a wide range of instrumentation, data collection and communications equipment, the Model 4256-1003 features a frequency range (no load) of 75 KHz to 1 MHz. Other key specifications include: overshoot of 1V maximum, common mode rejection at 45dB minimum, and droop at less than 20 percent.

Up to 10 standard turns ratios are available with the Model 4256-1003 Series. They range from a 1:1 turns ratio (primary 1-3, secondary 16-13) to a turns ratio of 1.4:1 (primary 1-3, secondary 16-13). Turns ratio accuracy is within +3 percent.

The Model 4256-1003 Series is fully encapsulated to protect its circuitry. In addition to its low 3.94 mm profile, the Model 4256-1003 comes in a small package measuring 23.62 mm (0.93 in) long by 16.00 mm (0.63 in) wide.

Both tube and tape-and-reel packaging are available to support automated assembly, and the Model 4256-1003 is compatible with either dip or wave soldering. OEM volume pricing is available upon request. Lead-time is stock to 8 weeks.
