More Saws Added to Hitachi's Line Up-Introducing Two New 12" Dual Compound Miter Saw Models

NORCROSS, GA., January 24, 2006 - Hitachi Power Tools today announced two new 12" dual compound miter saws, the C12LDH featuring an LCD (Liquid Crystal) Display and laser marker and the C12FDH that comes with the laser minus the LCD display. Both versions allow the user to flip the saw head to the right or the left to make bevel cuts- keeping the material securely in place for ultimate cutting efficiency.

Precision and accuracy are key advantages to using a Hitachi miter saw. The LCD scale on the C12LDH, located at the front of the saw above the miter scale adjustment knob, allows the user to quickly and accurately set both the bevel and miter angles. A backlight button can be activated on the scale to improve visibility when working in dimly lit areas. Hitachi's patented laser marker feature on the C12LDH and C12FDH models accurately indicates where the blade will cut on the material and can be easily adjusted to the right or left of the cut mark depending upon the users' preference. Unlike other manufacturers, Hitachi's lasers are not mounted to the arbors. The laser lines are projected even when the blades are not spinning, improving safety and flexibility.

Both dual compound miter saws are powered by 15Amp motors with 1,950 Watts of max output power to smoothly cut through hardwoods with ease. The tall pivoting aluminum fences that stand at heights of 5-1/8" allow crown molding to be cut vertically for convenience. Elastomer covers the saws' horizontal handles, reducing vibration, while adding comfort and preventing slippage. The large bases provide better support and balance to prevent material from warping. Externally accessible carbon brushes allow for quick and easy changes while keeping up with routine maintenance.

The miter scales range from 0-52 degrees, both to the right and left, for a broader range of cuts. Miter angles can be quickly adjusted using Hitachi's thumb actuated positive stops. The bevel scale ranges from 0-48 degrees to the right and left allowing the materials to stay in place while the saw head flips to make opposing cuts. Hitachi has incorporated micro bevel adjustment dials on both models. After the major bevel adjustment angle is secured, the micro knobs can be used to dial-in to precise angles without the weight of the saw head compromising the accuracy.

These two new miter saws reflect the aggressive new signature design being implemented by Hitachi Power Tools. Hitachi is pioneering yet another new trend in the industry- tools that incorporate the latest technology with ergonomic design- a look that will modernize the traditional workshop or jobsite.

The Hitachi C12LDH and C12FDH 12" dual compound miter saws come complete with 12" TCT Saw blades, dust bags, vice assemblies, box wrenches and hex bar wrenches. They are the ideal dual compound miter saws for trim carpenters, framers and woodworkers who demand precision and reliability. It is compatible with both of Hitachi's Universal workstations (UU610 & UU610CZ).
