DSP Group's Chipset Powers Swissvoice Over-the-Top ULE Home Automation Gateway

Comprehensive, Highly-Integrated DVF99 Chipset From DSP Group is Ideal for ULE Over-the-Top (OTT) Applications

SAN JOSE, Calif. — DSP Group®, Inc. (Nasdaq:DSPG), a leading global provider of wireless chipset solutions for converged communications, announced today that it was collaborating with Swissvoice, a leading vendor of home communication appliances, to jointly develop an OTT ULE home automation gateway. Leveraging ULE's best-in-class features, the innovative joint solution will enable service providers and retailers to deploy home monitoring and automation services over any broadband connection, and be suitable for numerous Home Area Networking (HAN) segments, including home security and automation, monitoring, energy management and more.

As part of the joint development effort, DSP Group's DVF99 chipset will be integrated into the Swissvoice home automation OTT gateway. DVF99 is a comprehensive solution which integrates all major features required for a cost-effective OTT ULE gateway. Boasting two ARM926 CPU's, a ULE baseband processor with CAT-iq, IP termination with Ethernet and USB master ports, the DVF99 was built for low power usage and easy Wi-Fi integration -- making it notably suitable for ULE over-the-top applications.

ULE standard is based on the robust and reliable DECT technology, found today in more than 500 million homes worldwide. ULE, a low-power- consumption extension of the DECT standard, is ideally suited for home automation and other Internet-of-Things (IoT) applications, providing numerous advantages over other wireless technologies. Notably, ULE features an interference-free spectrum, superior range, easy installation and ultra-low power consumption without compromising audio performance. ULE also provides the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO) compared to competing technologies and leverages DECT's reliability and large household install base.

"ULE technology is a natural choice for service providers who traditionally offered voice and now would like to expand their offering to home monitoring and automation services," said Sebastien de La Bastie, managing director of Swissvoice, "DSP Group's DVF99 is a perfect match to power our over-the-top ULE gateway, offering the right combination of rich feature set and ease of integration," he concluded.

"We are pleased that a market leader like Swissvoice chose DVF99 for their Home Automation Gateway," said Jan Abelev, Corporate Vice President of Product Marketing for DSP Group. "With Swissvoice's unique technical expertise and commercial footprint in the world of service providers and retail, we are convinced that this partnership will quickly boost our presence in home monitoring and automation markets," he concluded.
