DSP Group Delivers HD Voice and Home Automation Utilizing Qualcomm Internet Processor

DSP Group's DECT/CAT-iq/ULE SoC Offers Simple Integration With Qualcomm® Internet Processors (IPQ806x), Providing Greater Networking Processing Power That Enables Gateways to Deliver Advanced Cordless Audio Capabilities, Home Automation and Control Functionality

LOS ALTOS, Calif. — DSP Group®, Inc. (Nasdaq:DSPG), a leading global provider of wireless chipset solutions for converged communications, announced today that its DCX81 DECT/CAT-iq/ULE (Ultra Low Energy) System on a Chip (SoC) can be integrated in gateways based on the Qualcomm® Internet Processor (IPQ806x) from Qualcomm Atheros Inc., a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated. The solution will enable delivery of advanced cordless telephony features like multi-line, multi-call and multi-handset with enhanced HD voice.

DSP Group's cutting-edge DECT/CAT-iq/ULE SoC offers full home coverage, wideband audio (HD voice) and ULE support for home automation and security - all at an attractive cost/performance ratio. Supporting multiple lines and handsets and in-field software upgradability, DSP Group's DECT/CAT-iq/ULE SoC reference design enables home gateway developers to rapidly deliver products complying with the CAT-iq 2.0, 2.1 and 3.0 standards.

"We are excited to work with Qualcomm in facilitating the development of next-generation converged communication solutions with unprecedented performance and power efficiency," explained Daniel Estrakh, Cordless Product Director at DSP Group. "Our DCX81 DECT SoC firmware, with its

reference software, rich feature set, and high level of integration simplifies the development of next-generation DECT-enabled home gateways," he concluded.

"The IPQ806x is designed to support a new class of IP-based applications and services that users want and service providers can deliver through home gateways and routers," said Adam Lapede, Senior Director of Product Management at Qualcomm Atheros. "Coupling DSP Group's DCX81 DECT SoC reference design with the IPQ806x allows customers to build gateways with IP-based services such as HD Voice telephony features," he continued.

This solution will be presented at Broadband World Forum Amsterdam on 21-23rd October 2014 at DSP Group's meeting room.
