FibaFuse(TM) Provides Stronger, Mold-Resistant Alternative to Paper Tape for Professional Drywall Installation

(Grand Island, NY) October 8, 2009 - FibaFuse(TM) is an innovative, mold-resistant alternative to paper tape specifically designed for professional drywall installers, renovators, remodelers, contractors, and home builders. Engineered with a porous, open fiber design, FibaFuse allows drywall compound to flow through and bond with its reinforced glass mat fibers and the underlying drywall, resulting in a more durable joint than paper tape.

Now available, FibaFuse is simple to use and can be applied with a variety of professional drywall installation tools, such as tape reels, super tapers, mud tubes, drywall banjos and automatic taping tools. FibaFuse is also easier to handle, with a 500-foot roll weighing 62 percent less than the same size roll of paper tape.

FibaFuse provides substantial advantages over paper tape by resisting cracks and mold, virtually eliminating blisters and bubbles, requiring less compound during application, and allowing quick and easy correction of tears and dry spots. Twenty-four hours after applying a second coat of compound, FibaFuse's crack strength is 76 percent stronger than paper tape.

Joints are smooth and easy to finish since FibaFuse embeds deeply with drywall compound, allowing installers to use less compound during installation and spend less time sanding.

FibaFuse simplifies drywall finishing in corners with a pre-creased center fold that speeds installation with standard corner trowels, corner rollers, corner taping heads and other tools.

With a perfect 10 rating on the ASTM D3273 mold test, FibaFuse can be installed in almost any high-humidity, moisture-prone environment.

FibaFuse is available in 75-, 250- and 500-foot (22.6-, 76.2- and 152.4-meter) rolls at leading lumber and building material dealers. For instructions on installation, a how-to video hosted by That Drywall Guy(TM) Myron Ferguson, and additional information, visit www.fibafuse.com.
