GE Announces TransforMore(TM) Dry Type Transformer Line



Enhanced line offers increased efficiency, performance, safety and space savings

Plainville, Connecticut -September 8, 2003 - GE Industrial Systems (GEIS), a division of the General Electric Company (NYSE: GE), announces the launch of TransforMore(TM), GE´s new dry type transformer line is used in low voltage commercial, industrial, and residential distribution, and in applications for feeding main power to distribution equipment. TransforMore(TM) has several design modifications including:

Improved Safety
Increased Energy Efficiency
Quieter for average application
Smaller size
Ease of Installation

TransforMore(TM) has been modified to be 30% smaller, and 40% lighter than the size of the former dry type transformer line, enabling consumers to install TransforMore(TM) with greater simplicity. TransforMore(TM) has also been updated to incorporate beneficial safety features such as, alarm, three-phase disconnect and dry contacts, provided for remote monitoring.

According to Larry Blystone, Vice President of GEIS - Electrical Products, "GE continues its tradition of offering high quality, reliable products to the market. The new TransforMore(TM) dry type transformer line is the first in the field to make updates and improvements to the basic design that has been in use. Typically sold through distribution, the TransforMore(TM) 300kVA will be available in early September 2003, with other frames/sizes to follow in the coming months.
