Iveco Motors of North America Unviels Their NEF Gen-Drives

CAROL STREAM, IL (April 2004)-Iveco Motors of North America, Inc., a subsidiary of Iveco Motors, a leading world-class diesel engine manufacturer, is proud to unveil their NEF Gen-Drives based on NEF engines. The NEF Gen-Drives are a complete engine package, which includes a base engine, cooling system, and an air filter optimized for power generation applications.

"OEMs select our NEF Gen-Drives as they are easy to fit in any generator set," said , General Manager, Iveco Motors of North America. "With our drives and their generator, it's easy to create an optimal power system."

NEF Gen-Drives are manufactured with all the components necessary to couple to existing generators, allowing OEM's to create their own generator set package. The engines are available with mechanical and electronic fuel systems. The engines electronic, common rail fuel injection system enables the gen-drives to have, improved performance, less fuel consumption and lower noise levels. Also, the electronic capabilities allow for engine protection and on-board diagnostics. In addition, compared to other electronic gen-drives, they have a compact, neat and modern design with easily connectable wiring. The performance of the mechanical fuel system versions will be such that additional engine controls are not required. All NEF Gen-Drives have forty percent less components than older models and are available in versions for 50Hz and 60 Hz power generation systems.

NEF gen-drives are available in naturally aspirated, turbocharged and turbo after-cooled versions, with a power range of 57kW to 215kW. NEF Gen-Drives meet EPA Tier 2 requirements and are EPA Tier 3 capable. A rear gear drive design enables the noise levels to stay below 91 dBA and improves the cooling performance because of the better airflow on the front section of the engine. A component option includes a 12V or 24V electrical systems can also be equipped with a puller or pusher fan.
